What we do
The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority is led by Mayor Steve Rotheram and brings together the region's six local authorities – Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral – to tackle the big issues that matter to us all, together.

Our devolution deal with the government means that we are taking control of the important decisions that matter to our city region locally, instead of them being taken in London. This means that we can take decisions and invest our public money in the things that will bring the biggest benefits to you and your community. We're investing to create jobs and provide the skills our residents need, to improve our public transport and environment, build homes and tackle homelessness - making the Liverpool City Region the best possible place to live, work, play and grow old.

Your Metro Mayor
Steve Rotheram was elected as the first Mayor of the Liverpool City Region on 5 May 2017 with 59% of the vote. The Mayor leads the Combined Authority in its work to drive prosperity, encourage innovation and expand opportunities for local people and communities in every part of our city region.
